Tragic Helicopter Crash in Pune Claims Lives of Two Pilots and an Engineer

In a tragic accident on Wednesday morning, a helicopter belonging to Delhi-based Heritage Aviation crashed and caught fire near Pune, Maharashtra.

The helicopter, an Agusta 109 model, was en route from the Oxford County Golf Course helipad to Juhu, Mumbai, when it went down at 7:40 AM.

The incident occurred in the hilly terrain of Bavdhan, a location near the golf course. Authorities confirmed that the crash claimed the lives of all three individuals on board—two pilots, Girish Kumar and Pritam Singh Bhardwaj, and an engineer, Paramjeet Singh.

Local police and fire department teams were quickly dispatched to the site. Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police, Vinaykumar Choubey, stated, "Our teams, along with fire department vehicles, have reached the spot," while fire officer Anil Dimle confirmed that the chopper caught fire after crashing.

Initial reports suggest that dense fog in the area may have played a role in the accident, though a detailed investigation by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is underway to determine the exact cause.
