A rescue helicopter crashed near Barafu Camp on Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on Wednesday, 24 December 2025. The accident happened at an altitude of about 4,700 meters during an emergency medical mission. The helicopter was an Airbus Helicopters H125 ( AS350 B3e ), operated by KiliMedAir Aviation and registered as 5H-KMA . All five people on board died. There were no survivors. Those killed included the pilot, a doctor, a mountain guide, and two tourists from the Czech Republic . No one on the ground was injured. The helicopter was completely destroyed.
